Presenter: Riyad Shahjahan
Higher education systems are expanding rapidly around the globe in order to satisfy the greater need and demand for access. In this changing context, quality assurance has become an important policy issue, institutional practice and a concern for study in the field of higher education. In this presentation, Dr. Shahjahan will provide an overview of the growing role of quality assurance practices and critically probe the underlying assumptions of such practices in a globalized context. He will also highlight the possibilities and limitations to the growing internationalization of quality practices, namely the use of global university rankings to evaluate quality in higher education.
