Friday Japanese Culture Project : Japanese Drum (和太鼓、わだいこ)

069070071072034033028017036057073Today, as a Friday Japanese culture project, 16 students learned and played the Japanese traditional drum, Wadaiko (和太鼓、わだいこ).  The sound of Wadaiko was tremendously huge and heavy, and resonated with our bodies and hearts. As you see the pictures, we did a Wadaiko ensemble. Some of us played small Wadaiko, some others played bigger size ones, small bells, cymbals, and Japanese flute. It was a really fun experience (and stress relieving) to play rhythmical instrument after an ( stressful !?) weekly Friday Japanese exam.
